| Deputy Chief's Arway and Kulhawik were promoted to their
positions on November 19, 2007. This web site is just one more way we hope to reach out to
you, introduce our services, and solicit comments, and yes, even criticisms. Community Services
The Community Services Component is commanded by a
Lieutenant and coordinates neighborhood meetings for block watch and other crime
prevention seminars, as well as continues to provide instruction to civilians under the
Citizen Police Academy Program, which continues to be a rousing success. The program
provides citizens with information about the department, the police and the law as it
related to their rights, as well as the police actions required under specific
circumstances. The hope is to create a better understanding between the police and the
community. On average, two citizen academies are run per year.
