Welcome to the Norwalk Department of Police Service Online.
I am very proud to introduce you to our web site, and hope you visit us often.

I was honored to be appointed Chief of Police in May of 1995, after serving the department for over 24 years and working my way up through the ranks during my tenure here in Norwalk.

One of my goals is to continue to bring the department and the community closer together, thereby creating an environment where together we can work to keep Norwalk a safe environment to live, work and raise our families.

Rosemary Arway
Deputy Chief of Police

Thomas E. Kulhawik
Deputy Chief of Police

Deputy Chief's Arway and Kulhawik were promoted to their positions on November 19, 2007. This web site is just one more way we hope to reach out to you, introduce our services, and solicit comments, and yes, even criticisms.

Community Services
The Community Services Component is commanded by a Lieutenant and coordinates neighborhood meetings for block watch and other crime prevention seminars, as well as continues to provide instruction to civilians under the Citizen Police Academy Program, which continues to be a rousing success. The program provides citizens with information about the department, the police and the law as it related to their rights, as well as the police actions required under specific circumstances. The hope is to create a better understanding between the police and the community. On average, two citizen academies are run per year.
